The Ambassadors Theatre is located in London’s Theatreland district and neighbours St Martin’s Theatre. With close access to Charing Cross Road, Shaftesbury Avenue, Leicester Square and Covent Garden, The Ambassadors Theatre is definitely in a hub of entertainment activity. As the theatre is in such a popular location with tourists and Londoners alike, there are many transportation links to the area. Rail


The nearest National Rail station to the Ambassadors Theatre is London Charing Cross, which provides quick connections to London Waterloo and London Bridge stations as well as trains to Kent.

Charing Cross (10 minutes):  Head straight out of Charing Cross station and cross over at the traffic lights outside of the station and turn right onto The Strand. Turn left up Bedford St and keep walking as the road joins Garrick St. You will come to a cross road at the end of the street, cross over ahead to Upper St Martin’s Lane. At the end of the lane turn left and walk around the side of St Martin’s Theatre. The Ambassadors theatre will be on your right hand side.

Tube


The nearest tube stations to the theatre are Leicester Square(Northern and Piccadilly lines) and Covent Garden (Piccadilly line) stations, which are both within walking distance.

Leicester Square (2 minutes): Turn right down Long Acre out of Leicester Square station. Take the first left on Upper St Martin’s Lane as you reach the cross roads. Keep walking to the end of the road and turn left, you will see St Martin’s Theatre. Walk around the theatre and you will see the Ambassadors theatre next to you on the right hand side.
Covent Garden (5 minutes): Turn left out of the tube station and then left again onto Long Acre. Take the first right on to Langley Street and then left on to Shelton St. At the end of Shelton St follow the road as it curves around St Martin’s Theatre and joins West Street. The Ambassadors theatre will be on your right hand side.

Car


The Ambassadors Theatre is located within the London Congestion Charge Zone which applies weekdays from 7am until 6pm (not including bank holidays) and costs £11.50 per day. If you are driving to the theatre after 6pm then you will not have to pay the charge.

The Ambassadors Theatre is part of the Q-Park Scheme. The nearest Q Park is the 24hr Chinatown car park (20 Newport Place,WC2H 7PR). Parking costs approximately £18 for up to 3hrs, and £24 for 4hrs but theatregoers can save 50% if they have their ticket validated at the theatre. Ask theatre ushers for further details of where to get your ticket stamped.

There is also a nearer car park, the NCP Park on Upper St Martin’s Lane, however this is not included in the Q Park Scheme and costs £18 for 4 hours.

Taxi


There will be plenty of black cabs circulating the area as it very busy in the evenings. From here black cabs will have to be hailed in the street; however there is a designated taxi rank at Charing Cross rail station.
