Auditorium

  • Air Conditioning: The Barbican Theatre is fully air conditioned.
  • Food & Drink: There are many food and drink outlets in the Barbican Centre (please see below in the Dining and Bars sections) however only cold snacks and drinks in plastic cups are allowed into the auditoriums itself (NO glass or hot food in the auditorium)

Cloakroom

The Barbican Centre has free cloakroom facilities in which theatregoers can place their larger items. The cloakroom is open from 6pm until approximately 30 minutes after a show finishes.

Dining

The Barbican Centre Theatre has a number of different dining options: Searcys Restaurant and Bar, Cote Brasserie, Barbican Foodhall, Lounge,  the new Camera Cafe & Bar and various foyer bars and cafes.  Pre theatre dining is available. Please see the Barbican website for further details.

Bar

The Barbican Centre has a lot of bars throughout the building, including a Martini Bar, the Camera Café & Bar as well as Bars at Ground and Theatre levels.

Shop

Whilst programmes and ice creams are available throughout the building, the Barbican also has its own shop with show and exhibition merchandise along with other gifts, accessories and stationary. The shop is open from 11am-6.30pm and to 8.30pm on performance evenings. Please note that large print programmes are available on request. Please email programmes@barbican.org.uk with large print requests no later than a week before the show

Toilets

Toilets are clearly signposted and can be found on all levels of the Barbican Centre. 2 access adapted toilets can be found at theatre level (Mezzanine floor) as well as further access adapted facilities at gallery, library, pit, ground and Stalls levels. There are also access adapted toilets in the Exhibition hall and in the Cinemas by Beech Stree
