Katherine Kingsley – Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels - Katherine KingsleyKatherine Kingsley is the rare kind of performing chameleon that seems to be able to do it all; sing, dance, act, be funny, and of course be fabulous! We have admired her career for several years having seen her perform superbly in West End classics such as The 39 Steps, Singin’ in the Rain and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Katherine’s most recent venture is being the latest scoundrel on the block in the magnificent new musical; Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Having received rave critical praise for her role as the sweet and ditzy “Soap Queen” Christine Colgate, Katherine is on fire at the moment! We caught up with the hottest actress in town for a cheeky afternoon interview at the luxurious Savoy Theatre. Check out the video below to see what the lovely lady had to say for herself.

5 facts you may not know about Katherine

We chatted the afternoon away with the lovely Ms Kingsley and she revealed a few interesting facts about herself that you may not know!

                • Katherine loves Christine Colgate’s wardrobe, her favourite is the “lovely lemon yellow dress” the audience first sees her character in. Whilst it doesn’t necessarily reflect Katherine’s dress sense in real life, she hopes she can keep the dress for her own wardrobe!
              • Katherine is married to a fellow actor and Brit Award Winner, Dominic Tighe. Dominic has just finished a turn in Kinks musical, Sunny Afternoon at the Hampstead Theatre. Official Theatre suspects that won’t be the last we see of him in that show…shh.
              • Katherine and her aforementioned beau met whilst filming a shampoo advert. Cute.
              • One of Katherine’s twitter followers @Rhalou asked us to ask Katherine: “If you could only sing one song for the rest of your life what would it be?” Her answer…? Only bloomin’ GLORIA GAYNOR : I WILL SURVIVE. We hear ya sister!
            • Katherine is a born and bred Cambridge gal like Official Theatre Editor, Rebecca.

The Lightning Round!

As is customary, we thought we would well and truly freak Katherine out with The Lightning Round! Never ones to disappoint we cracked out our signature move! See how Katherine did below! If you thought “oh, hey, Katherine seems like a hoot” then you are not wrong! Go and see her as Christine in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels immediately! Doctors orders!
