Known for hosting variety acts and one-off concerts, the London Palladium is heading back to its original roots, earlier this year presenting the first pantomime in the West End in 29 years. Cinderella featured a glitzy cast, including Amanda Holden, Julian Clary, Lee Mead and Paul O’Grady, with Dick Whittington promising an equally glamorous bunch.
Dick Whittington is the well-known panto rags-to-riches story of Dick and his dancing cat! Setting off from their penniless home to find their fortune in London, the pair find their feet in the rat-infested city, which has Dick’s cat in high demand! But King Rat has his own plans and will do anything he can to stop Dick becoming the new Mayor of London!
Once known for pantomimes starring household names such as Cilla Black and Barbara Windsor, the London Palladium appears to be making panto an annual outing! Opening at the London venue in December 2017, Dick Whittington is set to run until January 7th 2018, with further information to be announced shortly.
