After a successful season at the Noel Coward Theatre in 2011, award-winning Russian company the Sovremennik Theatre bring a triple bill of plays to the West End. Playing for a limited season in May 2017 at the Piccadilly Theatre, Three Comrades is the first of three plays to kick off the season.

Written by Erich Maria Remarque, the critically acclaimed author of All Quiet on the Western Front, Three Comrades is set in 1928 Germany, at the height of the Great Depression. Three men are struggling to make ends meet in their jobs as mechanics, with friendship the only refuge to the chaos that engulfs them.

Directed by Sovremennik Theatre co-founder Galina Volchek, the play stars actress and humanitarian Chulpan Khamatova, with the entire triple bill featuring a cast and crew of over 100 people. Best known for their inventive take on contemporary plays and Russian classics, Sovremennik Theatre is the legendary Russian theatre company, celebrated across the country.

Three Comrades opens at the Piccadilly Theatre on May 3rd and plays limited performances until May 6th 2017. Please note that the play will be performed in Russian with English subtitles.
