Broadway’s sell out The Elephant Man arrives in London starring Bradley Cooper. The Hollywood actor received rave critics reviews for his role as John Merrick, the “Elephant Man” in Bernard Pomerance’s play about a young man with a crippling disease.

Academy Award Nominated Actor Bradley reprises his role as John Merrick in The Elephant Man, which arrives at the Theatre Royal Haymarket for a limited season following a successful run on Broadway.

Bernard Pomerance’s play is based in the real life of Joseph Merrick (John Merrick in the show) and his battle with an extreme deformity, leading him to be known as the “Elephant Man.”

Set in the Victorian era, the Elephant Man has been enlisted in a Freak Show that travels from London to Brussels. A doctor by the name of Frederick Treves comes across the Freak Show and is fascinated with Merrick, taking him under his wing.

Scott Ellis directs this challenging piece of theatre about difference, acceptance and faith.

Elephant Man run for a strictly limited season of 12 weeks from the 19th May to the 8th August 2015.

Due to the subject matter of the The Elephant Man, including scenes of mild nudity, the show is not suitable for children.
