The Jamie Lloyd Company present a double-bill of Harold Pinter’s dark one-act plays Moonlight and Night School as part of the Pinter at the Pinter Season at London’s Harold Pinter Theatre. A unique theatrical event that celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Nobel Prize-winning writer’s death, the complete season takes place at the West End venue from September 2018 to February 2019.

Fresh from directing Carey Mulligan in the smash-hit Girls & Boys at the Royal Court, Olivier Award-winner Lyndsey Turner directs the emotionally raw and hugely funny Moonlight. One of Pinter’s later works, the action is set deep within the recesses of a dying father’s dark bedroom and sees the past return to haunt him, as loneliness takes over.

Originally published in 1968, Night School is one of Pinter’s earlier and rarely-staged plays. Directed by the hugely inventive Ed Stambollouian, whose previous credits include The Scottish Plays at Trafalgar Studios, the one-act piece sees a dodgy East End criminal return from prison to find out his room has been occupied by a mysterious woman with a secret. Set within the nightclubs and boarding houses of 1960’s London, Night School is brilliantly dark and tremendously funny.

Casting includes Jessica Barden, whose extensive screen credits include hit series The End of the F***ing World, with theatre credits including Blasted at the Sheffield Crucible and Jerusalem at the Royal Court. Barden is joined by Bríd Brennan, Janie Dee, Robert Glenister, Isis Hainsworth, Peter Polycarpou, Dwane Walcott, Al Weaver and Abbie Finn.

The Pinter at the Pinter Season promises to be an unforgettable journey through some of Harold Pinter’s finest plays, featuring double bills such as Party Time / Celebration, The Dumb Waiter / A Slight Ache and more. All productions star stellar actors, including the likes of Celia Imrie, John Simm, David Suchet and more.

Moonlight / Night School is the fourth double-bill to play at the Harold Pinter Theatre as part of the season. The production runs at the theatre from November 1st to December 8th 2018, with an official opening on November 16th 2018.
