The National Theatre is part of the cultural hub that is London’s Southbank. There are many other theatres nearby as well as the Tate Modern, Southbank Centre and the Royal Festival Hall. The National Theatre is made up of three theatres; the Olivier, Lyttelton and The Shed. The theatre is ideally located just off the river Thames and is surrounded by restaurants, pubs, hotels and cafes. There are plenty of transportation links near to the theatre. Rail


The nearest National Rail Stations are London Waterloo and Waterloo East Stations. The two stations are attached and run trains to the South and the South West of the UK

London Waterloo (and Waterloo East) (6 minutes): Exit the station on York Road. Cross over at the roundabout onto Waterloo Bridge. The theatre is along the Southbank to the right of the Bridge.

Tube


The nearest Tube station to the National Theatre is Waterloo (Bakerloo, Jubilee and Northern Lines, which is approximately a 6 minute walk away.

Boat


London Eye Millennium Pier (8 minutes): From the Pier and facing Jubilee Gardens, turn right and head down the Southbank. Once you have passed the Southbank Centre, the National Theatre will be on your right hand side.

Bus


For buses to Waterloo Road : 1, 4, 26, 59, 68, 76, 168, 171, 172, 176, 188, 341, X68.

Car


The National Theatre is located within the London Congestion Charge Zone. The Charge Zone is active from 7am until 6pm and costs £11.50 per day. If you are driving to the theatre after 6pm then you will not have to pay the charge.

The National Theatre has its own basement Car Park with a limited number of spaces. Parking costs £8 after 5pm or if you have a ticket for a day time event (tickets must be validated at the National Theatre information desk.)

Other than the National Theatre Car Park, parking near to the National Theatre is extremely tricky as the theatre is along the river and not close to many 24 hour car parks.

Taxi


There is a designated taxi rank at Waterloo Station.
