Acclaimed junior doctor-turned-comedian Adam Kay brings his one-man show This is Going to Hurt, based on the best-selling book, back to the West End for a run of socially-distanced performances.

Offering first-hand insight into the lives of junior doctors, This is Going to Hurt is based on the secret diaries Kay kept whilst working 97-hour weeks in hospitals. A striking blend of gory stories, heart-warming tales and comedy songs, Kay’s one-man show is as funny as it is sad, as entertaining as it is educational.

Former junior doctor Adam Kay is now an award-winning comedian and writer who, as well as his chart-topping memoir, has since written for a string of hit comedy shows such as Mrs Brown’s Boys, Very British Problems and Mitchell and Webb.

Kay is also adapting his Sunday Times best-selling book for television. The series, which will air in 2021 on BBC Two, will be led by stage favourite Ben Whishaw
