Book The Comeback tickets for a second chance to see this hilarious new play in the West End

Acclaimed comedy duo The Pin are making a West End comeback… literally. Their hilarious new play, The Comeback, which premiered last year is heading back to the Noel Coward Theatre for a limited summer run.

Ben Ashenden and Alex Owen’s play follows two up-and-coming comedic double acts who can’t break the cycle of playing mundane warm-up spots in sleepy, seaside towns. However, one night a Hollywood director – played by a celebrity guest at each performance – is in the audience and the duos glimpse an opportunity. Farcical mayhem soon ensues as the comics wrestle for the limelight while performing the most high-stakes gig of their careers.

The Comeback attracted some high-profile celebrity guests during its previous run in 2020, including Ian McKellen, Graham Norton, Danny Dyer and Joanna Lumley. Celebrity guests won’t be announced in advance.

Ashenden and Owen, otherwise known as The Pin, have seen huge success with their award-winning BBC Radio 4 sketch comedy. After premiering in 2015, The Pin scooped the Best Comedy trophy at the BBC Radio Awards, and have appeared on BBC Three, Comedy Central and Channel 4, as well as performing sold-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Directed by Emily Burns, The Comeback proudly takes its inspirations from the classic comedy farces of the 1970s and 1980s, including Michael Frayn’s Noises Off, as well as some of the UK’s most iconic comedic double acts, such as Morecambe and Wise and the Two Ronnies

For those looking for a summer of side-splitting laughs mixed with a generous dose of heart-warming nostalgia, look no further than The Comeback. Catch it at the Noel Coward Theatre from 7th July 2021 for a limited season.
