The Drifters Girl is a brand new musical telling the remarkable story of beloved soul group The Drifters, now playing at the Garrick Theatre.
The Drifters Girl follows the story of Faye Treadwell, legendary manager of The Drifters, and her three decade fight to turn the Atlantic Records group into a worldwide phenomenon. As the world’s first female, African-American music manager, Faye revels in hit records and sell-out tours and fights through legal battles and personal tragedy, all the while refusing to give up on the group she loved.
The Drifters Girl features a soundtrack of iconic songs, with “Save The Last Dance for Me”, “Under the Boardwalk”, “Stand By Me” and “Saturday Night at the Movies” to name just a few.
Felicia Boswell stars as Faye Treadwell. Boswell is an Emmy Award-winning actress with stage credits including Motown the Musical, Memphis and Shuffle Along on Broadway.
Boswell is joined in the cast by Tarinn Callender (Hamilton, Come From Away), Matt Henry (Kinky Boots), Adam J Bernard (Dreamgirls), and Tosh Wanogho-Maud (Show Boat, The Book of Mormon).
The Drifters Girl features a book by Ed Curtis, and the production will be directed by Jonathan Church. Design is by Anthony Ward, with choreography by Karen Bruce, lighting design by Ben Cracknell and music supervision and orchestrations by Chris Egan.
