A blazing new musical blasts into St James Theatre as the second production in their spring season. Miss Atomic Bomb stars much-loved British actress and comedienne Catherine Tate alongside Aladdin star Dean John-Wilson.

Miss Atomic bomb fuses together Olivier Award-winning choreographer Bill Deamer (Top Hat) and emerging director Adam Long (The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged), who will co-direct this freshly ambitious musical.

Set in 1952 Nevada, Miss Atomic Bomb is inspired by the bizarre mix of tourism and the military at the time of beauty pageants and nuclear testing. Four friends are thrown into disarray as atomic blasts light up the sky – Candy puzzles over the mysterious death of her sheep, Joey deserts the army, Myrna is fixated on styling pigs and Lou desperately wants an atomic gimmick for the Golden Goose. In a city divided by the mob and military, time is limited for the struggling characters.

Inspired by the real-life nuclear tests and beauty pageants of the 1950s, Miss Atomic Bomb is a quirky satire, written by Adam Long, Gabriel Vick and Alex Jackson-Long.

Catherine Tate is set to star in this new musical comedy about explosive Nevada, with it being her second appearance on the West End since 2015. Tate previously featured in the sell-out run of Assassins at the Menier Chocolate Factory. Her extensive film and television credits include The Catherine Tate Show, Catherine Tate’s Nan, Big School, The Vote and The OfficeDean John-Wilson made his first impression on Britain's Got Talent and has recently been announced as the title role in the West End transfer of Aladdin.

Miss Atomic Bomb is the second show in the St James spring season, which is placing emphasis on leading roles for women, with tales inspired by true stories which feature entertaining and absorbing female roles.

Presented by Tanya Link Productions, the world premiere of Miss Atomic Bomb plays at the St James Theatre from March 7th to April 9th 2016, with the official opening on March 14th. This show promises to be an absolute blast!
