Hershey Felder as Leonard Bernstein in Maestro

Hershey Felder stars is the iconic Broadway composer Leonard Bernstein in his show Hershey Felder as Leonard Bernstein in Maestro, which plays limited performances at Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Other Palace. One of two shows he is bringing to the London venue, Maestro charts the career of famed musician Bernstein.

Featuring a selection of his greatest hits, Maestro brings to life the sumptuous scores from classics including Candide, On the Town and Wonderful Town, as well as the legendary West Side Story. Considered as one of the most successful musicians in American history, Bernstein had an extensive career that spanned into musicals, film and opera.

Born in Massachusetts in 1918, Bernstein found fame as the Artistic Director of the New York Philharmonic, before conquering the world of musical theatre. Maestro delves into the turbulent personal life of the artist, recounting stories and the behind-the-scenes of the musical superstar.

Joel Zwick directs, with credits to his name including one of film’s highest-grossing romantic comedies, My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Hershey Felder is best known for his productions about famous composers, with previous shows including George Gershwin Alone, Monsieur Chopin and Beethoven, As I Knew Him, all of which have been seen in America.

Maestro plays in rep with Hershey Felder as Irving Berlin, which documents the life of another famous composer. Bringing to life Leonard Bernstein in all his glory, the show is a sparkling celebration of the musician, featuring several of his smash-hit songs. Hershey Felder as Leonard Bernstein in Maestro plays at The Other Palace from September 25th to October 22nd 2017.
