Joshua Harmon’s blistering comedy Bad Jews returns to London’s West End for a strictly limited 11-week summer run at the Arts Theatre.
Bad Jews follows a Jewish family who gather after the death of their grandfather to determine who should rightfully inherit his prized necklace. As a ‘real jew’ Daphna believes she, along with her Israeli boyfriend, should inherit it, but her cousin Liam and his non-Jewish girlfriend Melody have other ideas. A hilarious argument ensues over the prized family heirloom that was left behind.
Bad Jews first premiered in 2012 in New York, before transferring to the UK where it embarked on a nationwide tour and played two acclaimed West End seasons at the Theatre Royal Haymarket and Arts Theatre.
The revival will be directed by Jon Pashley with further cast and creatives to be announced.
Joshua Harmon is a Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle award-winning playwright whose other stage credits include Significant Other, Ivanka and Skintight. His work was most recently seen in London in 2019 with the UK premiere of Admissions, starring Alex Kingston.
Bad Jews is a riotous exploration of Jewish identity, faith and family. The comedy opens at the Arts Theatre on 14th July.
