David Mamet’s provocative college drama is sure to spark debate, don’t miss Oleanna tickets

Oleanna, David Mamet’s searing exploration of consent and sexual harassment between a teacher and his student, is transferring to the West End’s Arts Theatre this summer for a limited three-month season.

Lucy Bailey’s acclaimed production of Mamet’s play premiered at Theatre Royal Bath in 2019 and the West End run will be preceded by a short UK tour.

Oleanna follows an on-campus meeting between an American professor and his student which results in a sexual harassment claim. He pleads innocence. She feels violated. The play bristles with razor-sharp dialogue as it explores the themes of power, consent and censorship.

Rosie Sheehy and Jonathan Slinger will be reprising their performances as Carol and John respectively in the West End. Bailey directs, with design by Alex Eales, sound by Jon Nicholls and lighting by Oliver Fenwick

This timely revival is sure to be a provocative evening of theatre, posing questions and urging debate long after the curtain falls. Catch Oleanna at the Arts Theatre from 21 July 2021.
