Judith Kerr’s best-loved children’s picture book The Tiger Who Came to Tea will once again be bought to life at the Theatre Royal Haymarket as the beloved production returns for a summer season.
David Wood OBE’s celebrated adaptation follows Sophie and her mother as they entertain a big, stripey tiger for a tea party. They quickly learn that the tiger is far hungrier and thirstier than they ever imagined. Will there be any tea left for Sophie and her mummy? And what will daddy think when he discover a tiger in his house?
The Tiger Who Came to Tea runs for 55 minutes with no interval, making the perfect introduction to theatre for many children. The show is packed with magic, sing-a-longs and lots of teatime mayhem.
The show has previously played three seasons at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, alongside stints at the Lyric Theatre and the Apollo Theatre. Casting for the 2022 season is to be announced.
