Gangsta Granny
Treat the whole family to a riotously good time with Gangsta Granny tickets
Gangsta Granny is the 2013 children’s book by David Walliams, the celebrated comedian and actor known for co-writing and co-starring in Little Britain with his comedy partner Matt Lucas. The stage adaptation returns to the West End this summer for a 2-week run over the summer holidays.
Ben has to go to his Granny’s house every Friday whilst his parents go out. He dreads these evenings playing Scrabble and eating cabbage soup with his boring, old Granny. As he searches the kitchen for hidden biscuits, Ben accidentally discovers Granny isn’t all that she seems.
This fun, adventure story is surprisingly moving as Granny and Ben get to know each other better and Ben helps her on one final adventure. The show is adapted and directed by Neal Foster, the actor-manager of Birmingham Stage Company and writer of several other shows for young people, including three different productions of Horrible Histories.
David Walliams has written several books for children, though Grangsta Granny is his most popular. It was a number one best seller following its publication and has also been adapted into a film. This stage production comes to the West End following a national tour, and has previously run in the West End’s Garrick Theatre.
The return of this family favourite runs at the Harold Pinter Theatre from 14 August 2018 through 26 August 2018.
Child Friendly
Gangsta Granny is recommended for ages 6 and above. Under 3’s will not be admitted into the auditorium.
