Tamsin Grieg stars in the third instalment of Harold Pinter’s one-act plays, don’t miss Pinter at the Pinter tickets

The Jamie Lloyd Company present a double-bill of Harold Pinter’s early one-act plays Landscape and A Kind of Alaska as part of the celebratory Pinter at the Pinter Season. A unique theatrical event that acknowledges the 10th anniversary of the playwright’s death, the entire season takes place at the Harold Pinter Theatre from September 2018 to February 2019.

Written in 1969, Landscape sees a woman locked in a beautiful memory as her husband demands to be heard. A minimalist marvel, the play is one of Pinter’s earlier works. A Kind of Alaska sees Deborah awaken from a twenty-nine year-long sleep, eternally suspended between conscious and unconscious worlds. Penned slightly later in 1982, the pieces create a spellbinding evocation of isolation within the strange limits of time.

Casting includes Tamsin Greig, who last appeared on stage at the Noel Coward Theatre in James Graham’s Labour of Love. Further theatre credits include Twelfth Night at the National Theatre, as well as Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown at the Playhouse Theatre. Greig is also well-known for her television roles in Friday Night Dinner, Episodes and Green Wing.

Keith Allen also stars, with credits including Kingsman: The Golden Circle and Marcella, alongside well-known comedian Lee Evans, whose theatre credits include The Producers at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane and Meera Syal who most recently appeared as Miss Hannigan in Annie at the Piccadilly Theatre.

They are joined by comedy star Tom Edden, whose credits span film, TV and stage, the latter most notably including One Man, Two Guvnors and Amadeus.

Promising to be an unforgettable journey through some of Harold Pinter’s finest works, the season features many one-act plays including One for the Road, The Lover, Celebration and The Dumb Waiter, all with star-studded casts that feature the likes of Danny Dyer, John Simm, David Suchet and more.

Direction is by Jamie Lloyd, Patrick Marber, Ed Stambollouian, Lyndsey Turner and Lia Williams. Landscape / A Kind of Alaska is the third double-bill to play at the Harold Pinter Theatre as part of the season. The production plays from 25 October to 8 December 2018, with an official opening on 15 November 2018.
