Book Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons tickets and enjoy Jenna Coleman and Aidan Turner in a rom-com of few words
On average, humans will speak more than 123 million words in their lifetime. But what would happen if words were restricted? Jenna Coleman and Aidan Turner star in a West End transfer of Sam Steiner’s Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons at the Harold Pinter Theatre.
When a “hush law” is passed by the government, everyone suddenly has to restrict their daily word count. Oliver and Bernadette are like any other couple – used to throwing out words like darts, filling silence with idle chat, and squabbling over minor details. Faced with a new reality where every word counts, will their relationship survive?
Sam Steiner’s Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons is a bold, tender and funny rom-com about what we say and how we say it – and whether silence sometimes speaks volumes. After premiering to huge acclaim in Edinburgh in 2015, it now transfers to London with an all-star cast. Steiner’s other plays include You Stupid Darkness! and Kanye the First.
Jenna Coleman and Aidan Turner star as couple Bernadette and Oliver. Coleman’s extensive credits include Doctor Who and Victoria on screen and All My Sons at the Old Vic Theatre on stage. Turner has starred in some of the biggest TV and film franchises of recent years, including The Hobbit and Poldark. He was last on stage in The Lieutenant of Inishmore at the Noël Coward Theatre.
Director Josie Rourke is former Artistic Director of the Donmar Warehouse in Covent Garden. Her credits include the film Mary Queen of Scots and plays including Much Ado About Nothing with Catherine Tate and David Tennant, and James Graham’s plays The Vote and Privacy.
Coleman and Turner bring this playful but thoughtful two-hander to life with zest and heart. Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons plays in London for a limited season in 2023.
