Book Lyonesse play tickets to see Lily James and Kristin Scott Thomas dazzle on stage
Hot new play Lyonesse is a must-see at the Harold Pinter Theatre this year, with a starry cast led by Lily James and Kristin Scott Thomas. This intriguing story about a reclusive actress who re-emerges after three decades celebrates its world premiere in the West End for a strictly limited season of just 10 weeks.
Thirty years ago, Elaine retreated from the public eye and no one knew why. Now, she has invited young producer Kate to her remote home in Cornwall. She is ready to stage a dramatic comeback, and she needs Kate’s help. But as the two women prepare, who is really in control? Do they own their narrative, or is it about to be stolen from them?
Kristin Scott Thomas stars as Elaine opposite Lily James as Kate in the searingly funny and passionate Lyonesse play by Penelope Skinner. Scott Thomas and James have previously worked together on Netfix’s Rebecca, another story that held mysterious and complex relationships between two women at its heart.
Kristin Scott Thomas is a BAFTA and Olivier Award-winning stage and screen actor, with credits including Four Weddings and a Funeral, The English Patient and The Seagull.
Lily James is best known for her breakout role in Downton Abbey and subsequent success in Hollywood films Cinderella and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. She was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her portrayal of Pamela Anderson in Pam & Tommy.
Skinner’s previous work includes The Village Bike at Royal Court Theatre. Lyonesse is directed by Ian Rickson (Jerusalem, The Weir) who previously worked with Scott Thomas on The Seagull.
This story for our times is guaranteed to get theatregoers talking, and with a cast this good it is simply unmissable. Lyonesse plays in London from 17 October – 23 December 2023.
Age ratings for the Lyonesse play are to be confirmed.
