The Jamie Lloyd Company’s new season at the Playhouse Theatre is set to continue with Frank McGuinness’s version of Ibsen’s A Doll’s House, starring Jessica Chastain.

A Doll’s House, which follows a married woman locked in a misogynistic, male-dominated world, has been praised for its tackling of gender issues. It aroused a great sensation at the time of its initial publication in 1879, and caused controversy that rocked the media. It is as relevant today as it was over one hundred years ago.

Jessica Chastain is well known for her memorable performances on screen, including those in Zero Dark Thirty -  for which she won a Golden Globe Award and received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress -, The Help – for which she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress - and Molly’s Game. A Doll’s House marks her West End debut and her return to the stage, where her career began. Further casting is to be announced.

Don’t miss this striking new interpretation of a classic play; A Doll’s House plays at the Playhouse Theatre from 10th June to 5th September 2020.
