Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke will star as Nina in Chekov's The Seagull, the latest production announced in the Jamie Lloyd season at the Playhouse Theatre.
One of Chekov's greatest masterpieces returns to the West End in a version by Anya Reiss, who holds the accolade of being the youngest writer to have a play staged in London. Jamie Lloyd directs.
A tale of love, jealously and obsession, The Seagull is widely regarded as one of the greatest plays ever written. Emilia Clarke will make her West Ends debut playing Nina, the daughter of the rich landowner who aspires to a life as an actress.
Joining Clarke in the cast are Indira Varma (Present Laughter) as Arkadina, Robert Glenister (Glengarry Glen Ross) as Sorin, Tamzin Outhwaite (Stepping Out) as Polina, Sophie Wu (Vassa) as Masha, Danny Ashok (Alys, Always) as Medvedenko, Patrick Robinson (Casualty) as Dorn, Seun Shote (Cyrano de Bergerac) as Shamrayev, Daniel Monks (Teenage Dick) as Konstantin, and Tom Rhys Harries (The Pitchfork Disney) as Trigorin.
This new production will play at London's Playhouse Theatre.
