At its heart, All My Sons examines the tragic fallout of one man’s moral compromise. Joe Keller’s actions during WWII lead to terrible consequences, and when the truth finally comes out, his family must confront the scars left behind. The play unfolds as a heart-wrenching meditation on responsibility, denial, and the emotional wreckage that lies beneath a seemingly perfect American family.
Arthur Miller’s All My Sons play was a major breakthrough in post-war theatre, putting him on the map as one of the greatest American writers of all time. His work is still performed even now, with other classics including A View from the Bridge, Broken Glass and The Crucible.
Bryan Cranston stars as Joe Keller, reuniting with director Ivo van Hove following an award-winning collaboration on Network. Emmy, Olivier and Tony Award winner Cranston is best-known for playing Walter White in Breaking Bad and Hal in Malcolm in the Middle. He is joined by Marianne Jean‑Baptiste (Secrets & Lies) as Kate Keller, whose emotional depth fuels the family’s fragile dynamic, and Paapa Essiedu (RSC Hamlet, Death of England: Delroy) as Chris, the son who faces a devastating moral reckoning.
The cast also includes Tom Glynn-Carney (House of the Dragon) and Hayley Squires (I, Daniel Blake).
Ivo van Hove is an internationally-acclaimed Belgian director who is known for a bold, stripped-back style that brings heightened emotional intensity to his productions. In the UK, his work includes All About Eve in the West End. He has previously directed Arthur Miller’s The Crucible and A View from the Bridge, the latter of which won the Olivier and Tony Awards for Best Director of a Play.
