Adapted from Calendar Girls, The Girls is based on the real life story of a Women’s Institute who decide to fundraise for a local hospital by posing for a racy but tastefully-done nude calendar. Some are excited at the opportunity to bare all for the camera, whilst others take a little more persuading. When the calendar is released, the ladies become inadvertent media sensations, with interviews and photo-shoots all lined up. But within the group, each of them are dealing with their own strained personal lives that can only make the girls closer than ever. A touching tale of friendship in the face of adversity, The Girls is already become a hit across the UK.
