Raise a glass and get ready to enjoy the best pub lock-in you’ve ever been to! Songs by some of the biggest artists in the world, including Adele, Paul Simon and Guns ’N’ Roses feature in the worldwide sensation The Choir of Man musical at the Arts Theatre. After a world premiere at Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2017, this feel-good show has travelled all over the globe and spread its message of friendship and camaraderie to audiences as far away as Sydney and Washington D.C.

The Choir of Man is equal parts a feel-good homage to a place many of us have fond memories of – the great British pub – and a powerful meditation on community and belonging. One thing is guaranteed, if you book tickets you will enjoy the best trip to your local that you’ve experienced in a long, long time!

Created by Nic Doodson and Andrew Kay, The Choir of Man musical breathtakingly reinvents some of the most instantly recognisable pop songs from legendary artists both past and present, including Adele, Paul Simon, Guns ‘N’ Roses, Fun!, Avicii, Sia and many more. Alongside the musical performances, the show also features world-class tap dance and poetry.

The men on stage all represent some archetypes you might expect to run into at your local, including the Joker, the Hard Man, the Romantic, the Pub Bore, the Handyman and more. Far from a stereotype, however, The Choir of Man musical has an uplifting message about coming together to celebrate your individual strengths, leaning on each other and cheering on your wins – setting the world to rights over a drink has never sounded so good! It is a show that breaks the mould with a warm handshake and pat on the back, and is a down-to-earth option for anyone wanting a fun night out in the West End.

The Choir of Man played three sell-out seasons at the Sydney Opera House and has embarked on several sold-out US and European tours. Audiences love it, and critics do too: Broadway World applauded it as “charming, cheeky and unafraid to challenge the state of the world” in their review, and it was nominated for Best Entertainment or Comedy Play at the 2022 Olivier Awards. Due to the phenomenal success of the West End run, it is still playing an open-ended run of performances, so you can return to central London’s most welcoming drinking hole again and again.

The West End cast of The Choir of Man musical is currently led by Conor Hanley, Daniel Harnett, Michael Baxter, Levi Tyrell-Johnson, Mark Irwin, Owen Bolton, Jordan Oliver, Matt Beveridge, Matt Nalton, Matt Thorpe, Sam Ebenezer, Gavin Ryan and Lucas Koch. Together they deliver good times, companionship and incredible vocal and instrumental performances that brighten up the intimate Arts Theatre every evening.

The show is directed by Nic Doodson and features musical supervision, vocal arrangements and orchestrations by Jack Blume, monologues written by poet and spoken word artist Ben Norris, movement direction and choreography by Freddie Huddleston, scenic design by Oli Townsend, lighting design by Richard Dinnen, costume design and associate scenic design by Verity Sadler, sound design by Sten Severson, and casting by Debbie O’Brien
