Based on the cult phenomenon manga series, this exhilarating story about a cat and mouse chase between a teenage killer and an eccentric detective is even more otherworldly on stage!
When brilliant but discontented high school student Light Yagami discovers a mysterious notebook, he quickly realises it has an incredible power: if you write someone’s name on its pages, they die. As he resolves to rid the world of evil, Light’s actions catch the attention of enigmatic detective L. The two become embroiled in a thrilling, anonymous battle, as their individual quests for justice descend into obsession and a reckoning with the meaning of morality itself.
The Death Note musical comes to London in an incredible, reimagined version after playing multiple sold-out seasons in Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. It is based on the legendary manga series by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, which has sold over 30 million copies worldwide and was adapted into a successful anime series.
This new version of the musical is produced in collaboration with original Japanese team HoriPro, and features an incredible score by Tony, Grammy and Emmy nominee Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde on Broadway, Whitney Houston’s “Where Do Broken Hearts Go”), lyrics by Jack Murphy and a book by Ivan Menchell. A “unique and exquisite” (West End Best Friend) semi-staged version was shown at the London Palladium in 2023, and this revised production is set to be bigger and better than ever – if you want to be immersed in a world of Gods, men, and detective noir, this is the show to watch.
