Glitz and glamour with High Society musical tickets
Put your gladrags on because you’re invited to the most swell party of the summer with High Society at the Barbican Theatre! Cole Porter’s timeless musical comedy is back for a glittering revival starring Felicity Kendal and Helen George. This brand-new production brings Golden Age glamour and irresistible Porter melodies to London, with a full orchestra, a tip-top 28-strong cast, and one of the most elegant scores in musical theatre history. The High Society musical promises an evening full of wit, romance and fun – with the champagne flowing all night!
Based on Philip Barry’s classic play The Philadelphia Story and the beloved 1956 MGM film starring Grace Kelly, Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra, High Society tells the story of glamorous Long Island socialite Tracey Lord. As her huge society wedding approaches, plans for the event descend into chaos when her ex-husband unexpectedly sails up to her family’s waterfront estate, followed by a sharp-eyed tabloid reporter looking for a scandalous scoop. With old flames and new attractions making everything very, very complicated, Tracey must decide not only who deserves her heart but how to follow it.
This new London revival stars Helen George (Call the Midwife, The King and I) as Tracey Lord, joined by stage and screen favourite Felicity Kendal (The Good Life, Anything Goes) as the steely Mother Lord. Further casting is to be confirmed, including the two men vying for Tracey’s heart.
Helmed by director Rachel Kavanaugh, with choreography by Anthony Van Laast and musical supervision by Stephen Ridley, this production captures Porter’s razor-sharp wit and timeless elegance. With music and lyrics by Cole Porter, a book by Arthur Kopit and additional lyrics by Susan Birkenhead, the score includes beloved classics such as “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”, “I Love Paris”, “True Love”, “Well, Did You Evah!”, “Just One of Those Things” and “You’re Sensational”.
The High Society musical at the Barbican Theatre is a dazzling celebration of love, laughter and life’s irresistible complications. With its heady mix of romance, comedy, glamour and unforgettable music, it’s one of 2026’s must-see musical events. Don’t miss your chance to secure tickets – it won’t be “just one of those things” if you miss out!
