Robert Icke’s acclaimed production of Hamlet, starring Andrew Scott, transfers to the West End following a sold out run at the Almeida Theatre. Playing for a limited season at the Harold Pinter Theatre, the production received five-star reviews from critics, with many praising Scott’s leading performance.

Hamlet is the well-known Shakespeare tragedy following the Danish Prince, with the titular role being portrayed by acting greats including Laurence Olivier, Ben Whishaw, David Tennant, Jude Law, Maxine Peak, and most recently, Benedict Cumberbatch.

Olivier Award-winning actor Andrew Scott stars as Hamlet, and is best known for his role as Moriarty in BBC’s Sherlock. Scott most recently appeared in The Dazzle at Found111, with further stage appearances including Cock, A Girl in a Car with a Man, Design for Living and The Vertical Hour on Broadway.

Additional casting includes Marty Cruickshank as Player Queen, Jessica Brown Findlay as Ophelia, Calum Finlay as Rosencrantz, Joshua Higgott as Horatio, Daniel Rabin as Reynaldo, David Rintoul as Ghost/Player King, Juliet Stevenson as Gertrude, Luke Thompson as Laertes, Peter Wight as Polonius, Angus Wright as Claudius and Matthew Wynn as Bernardo/Player 3/Priest.

Olivier Award-winner Robert Icke directs, with previous credits including Mary Stuart, The Red Barn, Oresteia and 1984. Hamlet features design by Hildegard Bechtler, lighting design by Natasha Chivers, sound design by Tom Gibbons and video design by Tal Yarden. Playing at the Harold Pinter Theatre, Hamlet runs from June 9th to September 2nd 2017, with an official opening on June 15th 2017.
