Eurydice fears that she will not survive another barren winter, and when Hades tempts her with a duplicitous offer, Orpheus must travel to the underworld to save her. With music as his only weapon, will they make it back home?
The Hadestown musical combines jazz and folk elements to create a breathtaking live experience, based on Anaïs Mitchell’s concept album of the same name. After several pre-Broadway tryouts and an acclaimed season at the National Theatre, it transferred to New York in 2019 and won eight Tony Awards, including Best New Musical. It is directed by Rachel Chavkin (Natasha, Pierre, & The Great Comet of 1812), with an unforgettable set design by Rachel Hauck.
