An award-winning picture book brought to life with The Gruffalo play tickets

Julia Donaldson’s beloved picture book is returning to the West End this summer for a limited run at the Lyric Theatre in the West End. Since the book’s release in 1999, millions of children have met the Gruffalo but now it’s time to meet him in a way we’ve never had the chance to before. Packed with songs, laughs and monstrous fun, the musical adaptation is perfect for children aged 3 and upwards and, of course, their grown-ups too. The Gruffalo play is brought to life by theatre company, Tall Stories, who have also adapted other loved picture books such as Elmer and Room on the Broom.

In search of hazelnuts, Mouse heads out on a daring adventure through the deep, dark wood. Bumping into the cunning Fox, old Owl and sneaky Snake, Mouse tells the story of the terrifying Gruffalo to distract them from choosing Mouse as their dinner! But, is the Gruffalo really lurking around in the woods? Find out in this rib-tickling, exciting adventure. The adaptation is ideal for an introduction to theatre for little ones.

Jake Addley (Terrible Thames, The Gruffalo’s Child) takes on the roles of Fox, Owl and Snake with Althea Burey (Paw Patrol: Race to The Rescue, Odd Squad) as Mouse and Ashley Sean-Cook (The Goal!, Might Never Happen) as the Gruffalo.

Founder and Co-Artistic Director of Tall Stories, Olivia Jacobs, directs the loveable tale of The Gruffalo, with Toby Mitchell (The Smeds and The Smoos, Future Perfect) as dramaturg and music and lyrics written by Jon Fiber and Andy Shaw.

If you’re searching for some wholesome fun for the kids, you don’t want to miss The Gruffalo play as it returns to London’s West End! Head down to the Lyric Theatre and join Mouse on a thrilling adventure this Summer!
