Just For One Day
Discover the story of Live Aid with Just For One Day musical tickets
Relive the historic day rock ‘n’ roll changed the world in the exhilarating, brand-new Just For One Day musical. Featuring songs from Bob Dylan, The Who, David Bowie, Elton John, Diana Ross and more, the story of Live Aid comes to the Old Vic Theatre in a world premiere this year.
The ‘80s were defined by political unrest, social revolution, financial boom and bust… and music. In a decade running at full-throttle, one day made the world stand still and everyone has a story about it. In London and Philadelphia, 70 artists performed, $127 million was raised, and a once-in-a-lifetime cultural moment was broadcast across the globe.
Diving behind the scenes of the huge Live Aid events and using testimonies from people who saw it – either in person, on TV or backstage – the Just For One Day musical delivers a heavy hit of nostalgia with songs from Bob Dylan, David Bowie, The Who, U2, Queen, The Police, Elton John, Paul McCartney, The Pretenders, The Cars, Status Quo, Sade, The Boomtown Rats, Diana Ross, Ultravox and more.
The musical is written by John O’Farrell (Mrs Doubtfire the Musical, Something Rotten!) and directed by Luke Sheppard, who has helmed hugely successful new British shows including & Juliet and The Little Big Things. The cast of 26 includes Jackie Clune, Ashley Campbell, Olly Dobson, Joel Montague, Danielle Steers and Eddie Mann.
Get ready to be transported back to 13 July 1985, when 1.5 billion people were united by charity and song, with a percentage of proceeds donated to support ongoing global relief efforts. The Just For One Day musical captures a moment – be part of it at the Old Vic and book your tickets now.
