Book Noises Off tickets to enjoy a classic backstage farce starring Felicity Kendal

Beloved backstage comedy Noises Off is celebrating 40 years of making audiences laugh with a brand new West End season at the Phoenix Theatre, starring Felicity Kendal, Matthew Kelly and Katherine Kingsley

Sit back and enjoy the antics of a hapless touring theatre company as they try – and often fail – to put on a show-stopping performance of their latest play, Nothing On. There’s just as much drama offstage as on in this mischievous farce, which hurtles at breakneck speed to a shambolic but side-splitting ending!

Noises Off is a hugely popular comic play by Olivier Award-winning writer Michael Frayn (Copenhagen; Democracy). Frayn was inspired to write his 1982 hit after watching a performance from his earlier play, The Two Of Us, from the wings and realising how funny it could be behind the scenes.

Since its debut, Noises Off has been revived again and again, proving its lasting power as one of the funniest plays of the 20th century. This special 40th anniversary production is directed by Lindsay Posner (who previously directed it at the Old Vic Theatre in 2011) and transfers from Theatre Royal Bath with excellent reviews.

Noises Off stars Felicity Kendal (The Good Life; Hay Fever) as Dotty Otley, Katherine Kingsley (Singin’ in the Rain; The Larkins) as Belinda Blair, Matthew Kelly (The Dresser; Waiting For Godot) as Selsdon Mowbray, Alexander Hanson as Lloyd Dallas, Pepter Lunkuse as Poppy Norton Taylor, Joseph Millson as Garry Lejeune, Sasha Frost as Brooke Ashton and Jonathan Coy as Fredrick Fellows.

From opening night in Weston-Super-Mare to an hilariously catastrophic evening in Ashton-under-Lyne witnessed entirely from backstage, Noises Off has earned its place as the king of comic plays. You’ll be cringing and laughing until the excruciating final curtain call!
