Death of a Salesman
See this seminal play by Arthur Miller like never before with Death of a Salesman tickets
After a sell-out run at the Young Vic, Death of a Salesman transfers to the Piccadilly Theatre for a ten week run beginning in October.
Arthur Miller’s seminal Death of a Salesman follows the memories, dreams, and confrontations that make up the last 24 hours of the life of Willy Loman. Miller won a Pulitzer Prize for the work, which he described as “the tragedy of a man who gave his life, or sold it” in pursuit of the American Dream.
Wendell Pierce (The Wire, Suits, Selma) makes his UK stage debut as Willy Loman, a role previously taken on by some of the acting world’s most celebrated names, such as Dustin Hoffman, Christopher Lloyd and Philip Seymour Hoffman. He stars alongside Olivier Award-winning Sharon D. Clarke as Linda Loman and Arinzé Kene (Misty, Been So Long) as Biff Loman.
Following her recent award-winning successes Company and Angels in America, Marianne Elliott co-directs Death of a Salesman with Miranda Cromwell, (Associate Director on Company and Angels in America), bringing a new twist to what is widely regarded as one of the greatest plays of the twentieth century.
This production of Arthur Miller’s classic play is just one of several London productions that shine a light and celebrate black talent, including Lin Manuel Miranda’s blockbuster musical Hamilton and Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, telling the incredible life story of one of music’s icons.
A story of one man’s painful struggle with the American Dream, Death of a Salesman will begin its run at the Piccadilly Theatre on 24 October, with a press night on 4th November.
The age recommendation for Death of a Salesman is yet to be announced
