Sadler’s Wells is located away from the main stretch of London West End theatre in Islington, bringing the magic of dance to a different area of the capital. Islington is a little less popular with tourists which often means the area is less crowded and commercial than the very centre of London. There are many nice pubs and restaurants in the area and it is a popular location for fringe theatre. There are several nearby tube and rail stations as well as a number of bus stops linking the area to other parts of London. It is always advisable to check

Rail
Sadler’s Wells theatre is within walking distance of Farringdon, Kings Cross (which is connected to St Pancras station) and Old Street stations. The closest stations to the theatre are both Farringdon and Kings Cross, which is a major station that connects London with many cities north of the capital including Edinburgh and Leeds.
Kings Cross and Farringdon tube stations are fully access adapted.
From Farringdon (18 minutes) – Head straight out of the station and turn right onto Farringdon Road towards Angel. Continue up the road for over five minutes and then turn right onto Rosebery Avenue. The theatre will be around an 8 minute walk away on your left hand side.
From London Kings Cross / St Pancras (20 minutes) – Exit the station and walk down Pentonville Road towards Angel. Turn right at Angel station down St John Street. Take a right down Rosebery Avenue. The theatre will be on your left hand side.
Tube
The nearest tube station to Sadler’s Wells is Angel (Northern Line) which is just a five minute walk away from the theatre. The well-connected Kings Cross (Circle, Hammersmith and City, Metropolitan, Northern, Piccadilly and Victoria Lines) and Farringdon (Circle, Hammersmith and City, Metropolitan lines) tube stations are slightly further away but offers many transportation links.

Car
The Sadlers Wells theatre is just located within the London Congestion Charge Zone which applies weekdays (excluding bank holidays) from 7am until 6pm and costs £11.50 per day. If you are driving directly to the theatre after 6pm then you will not be charged.
As the theatre is just inside the Charge Zone, it is possible to park outside the zone and walk to the theatre. The nearest car park outside the zone is in the N1 Islington Centre on Parkfield Street (10 minute walk). After parking costs £3 per hour before 7pm and £1.50 an hour thereafter until the park closes at 12.30 am (2.30am on Friday-Saturday)
Inside the Congestion Charge Zone there is a much larger 24hr car park on Bowling Green Lane (7 minute walk.)

Taxi
Black cabs can be hailed from the street, especially along Pentonville Road and City Road. Alternatively there is a big taxi rank at Kings Cross National Rail Station.
