The Duchess is recently widowed and is in search of a new lease of life. Despite her family’s wishes, the Duchess marries beneath her class. When her brothers find out about her new marriage, they conspire against her, driven by their greed. Their vicious and cruel punishments against their sister lead to something devastating, but will their atrocities come back to haunt them?
The iconic role of the Duchess will be played by popular actress, Jodie Whittaker (Doctor Who, Broadchurch). Further casting will be announced closer to the start of the production. Joining Whittaker on stage is Paul Ready (Motherland) taking on the pivotal role of The Cardinal.
British playwright and screenwriter, Zinnie Harris (Spooks, The Scent of Roses), has adapted John Webster’s original play The Duchess of Almalfi, with further creatives to be announced closer to the production start.
