Don’t miss this junior doctor turned comedian’s tribute to the NHS with Adam Kay This is Going to Hurt tickets

Following sellout performances across the UK, at the Edinburgh Fringe, and at the Garrick Theatre, This is Going to Hurt transfers to the Vaudeville Theatre London for a limited two-week run.

Based on Adam Kay’s bestselling book, This is Going to Hurt (Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor) is an eye-opening stand-up show which collates Kay’s diary entries from his time working as a junior doctor. Featuring hilarious retellings, a pinch of gore, and witty songs, This is Going to Hurt is an entertaining and educational show. Above all, it is a love letter to the NHS.

After his book burst onto shelves in 2017, Adam Kay’s secret diaries have shown no sign of dropping in popularity. Named a Sunday Times bestseller, the book is consistently in the charts. Kay went on to adapt the book into this stand-up show, which has sold out at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival three years running.

A former doctor, Kay is now a comedian and writer. Having begun his comedy career in a student group called the ‘Amateur Transplants’, he now writes for Mitchell & Webb and Very British Problems, amongst others.

This is Going to Hurt is currently being adapted into an eight-part BBC series. Kay’s second book, Twas the Nightshift before Christmas, will once again see Kay delve back into his diaries for festive entries. It is due to be released October 2019.

Full of astute observations and side-splitting moments, This is Going to Hurt at the Vaudeville Theatre plays from July 1st. Don’t miss out, as tickets are sure to sell quickly for this popular show.
