The Adelphi Theatre is situated on London’s famous Strand stretch and makes up one of many theatres in the district of the West End known as Theatreland. As the theatre is so central within the city, there is plenty to do in the area as well as a plethora of hotels, restaurants and bars for theatregoers who wish to make the most out of their trip. There are many transportation links to the Strand including bus, tube and National Rail stops. It is always advisable to check www.tfl.gov.uk for London travel updates before making a journey on public transport.
The nearest rail station to the Adelphi Theatre is Charing Cross National Rail station (4 minutes walk.) From the station, cross over the road and turn right down the Strand. Carry on walking for a few minutes. The theatre will be on your left hand side.
The nearest tubes stations to the Adelphi Theatre are Charing Cross (Bakerloo and Northern lines) and Embankment (Bakerloo, District and Northern lines), which are both within around a 5 minute walking distance.
From Charing Cross (4 minutes) - See the above directions in the ‘Rail’ section above.
From Embankment (6 minutes) – Head straight out of the station (City exit, not the Embankment exit) and walk straight up Villers St. At the end of the road turn right down the Strand. Cross the road onto the opposite side and keep walking for a couple of minutes. The theatre will be on your left hand side.
For buses to the Strand: 6, 9, 11, 13, 15, 23, 87, 91, 139, 176, N47
The Adelphi Theatre is located within the London Congestion Charge Zone area which applies from 7am until 6pm and costs £11.50 per day. If you are driving to the theatre after 6pm you will not have to pay the charge.
The Adelphi is part of the Q-Park Scheme. The nearest participating car park is the 24hr Q Park Chinatown Car Park (20 Newport Place,WC2H 7PR). Parking costs £18 for up to 3hrs, and £24 for 4hrs but theatregoers can save 50% if they have their ticket validated at the theatre.
Taxis will be driving around the area and can be flagged from the street however, as the theatre is so close to Charing Cross station, I would recommend heading to the station as there is a designate taxi rank where you can queue up for an available cab.
