Buy Upstart Crow tickets to see David Mitchell’s genius characterisation of William Shakespeare set the stage alight once again

The much lauded stage adaptation of the hilarious BBC sitcom Upstart Crow is returning to the West End for a 10-week run at the Apollo Theatre.

British comedy legend David Mitchell (Peep Show, Would I Lie to You?) stars as troubled playwright William Shakespeare as he is desperate to write a hit play that will impress King James and bolster his flailing reputation.

After wowing audiences and critics alike at the Gielgud Theatre in 2019, Ben Elton’s roaring farce, which the Guardian described as “the most consistently funny and expertly staged comedy since One Man Two Guvnors”, returns to London.

Gemma Whelan returns to play the delightful Kate, with further casting to be announced. Upstart Crow is directed by Sean Foley, with lighting by Tim Mitchell, choreography by Lizzi Gee, set by Alice Power and sound by Andy Graham.

Don’t miss Upstart Crow tickets for a raucous night of guaranteed laughs in this play that will make you see Shakespearean England in a whole new light. Upstart Crow plays at the Apollo Theatre from 23rd September.
