Horrible Histories – Terrible Tudors
Buy Horrible Histories play tickets and enjoy history with all the nasty bits left in!
Throw away your textbooks and get ready for the most fun history lesson you’ll ever have! Horrible Histories: Terrible Tudors is back at the Garrick Theatre for a second summer season this year, offering fun facts and kooky characters from years past.
From horrible Henry to evil Elizabeth, these kings and queens weren’t afraid to be ghoulish and ghastly. You’ll discover the fate of Henry’s six wives, watch him have a punch-up with the Pope, and even see a merciless monarch enter battle against the Spanish Armada. History is never boring where the Tudors are concerned!
The Horrible Histories play for kids is based on Terry Deary’s much-loved book series, which has been keeping kids up to date with the best bits of history since 1993 and sold over 25 million copies.
The show is directed by Neal Foster, founder of Birmingham Stage Company. He has extensive experience directing entertaining shows for kids and families, including Gangsta Granny and Tom’s Midnight Garden.
Birmingham Stage Company is one of the UK’s leading children’s theatre companies. Their acclaimed Horrible Histories play series – including Awful Egyptians and Barmy Britain – have been rampaging through the West End over half terms and summer holidays for years. The company has even managed to create its own bit of (less gory) history: its many installments of Barmy Britain make the series the longest-running children’s show the West End has ever seen.
This hilariously entertaining stage show promises to make history more vivid than ever before, whether you’re 5, 55 or even 105! Terrible Tudors is at the Garrick Theatre this summer, from 28 July – 3 September.
