It’s 1988. Working-class, optimistic Emma and posh, laddish Dexter have just graduated from university and spend one unforgettable night together, never imagining that their lives will cross again when they go their separate ways in the morning. But as time passes and their lives go down different paths, the pair are constantly brought together unexpectedly on 15 July, St Swithin’s Day. Where will their lives end up? “A full range of human emotions is convincingly laid bare” (London Theatre 1) in this stage adaptation of David Nicholls’ novel.
The One Day musical cast includes Olivier Award-nominated actor Jamie Muscato (Cabaret, The Great Gatsby) as Dexter, alongside Sharon Rose (Sylvia, Hamilton) as Emma.
The musical is based on the bestselling novel by David Nicholls, with a book by David Greig (Dunsinane). One Day The Musical features music and lyrics by Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano Ramirez, with additional material by Jeremy Sams. Choreography will be by Carrie-Anne Ingrouille, set and costume design by Rae Smith, lighting design by Bruno Poet, and sound design by Simon Baker.
