The Producers
Laugh ‘til you cry with Mel Brooks’ classic comedy – The Producers musical tickets on sale now!
When you’ve got it, flaunt it… and this show’s definitely got it! Mel Brooks’ brilliantly satirical The Producers musical is back in the West End for its first major London revival, following a sold-out run at the Menier Chocolate Factory. Based on the cult film, this comedy classic about a con-artist producer and a timid accountant who accidentally create a Broadway hit will make you laugh until you cry. Andy Nyman leads a fantastic cast, so don’t miss out on tickets to this “equal opportunity offender” (The Evening Standard) at the Garrick Theatre!
Broadway is a risky business… just ask down-on-his-luck producer Max Bialystock. But he has a plan: together with nervous accountant Leo Bloom, he’s going to swindle investors with the biggest flop in theatre history. The problem is, Springtime for Hitler: A Gay Romp with Adolf and Eva at Berchtesgaden is a huge success!
Featuring some of the most hummable – and hilarious – songs in the musical theatre playbook, including “Der Guten Tag Hop Clop”, “Keep it Gay”, “We Can Do It” and “Springtime for Hitler”, The Producers musical is one of the most successful shows on stage. Its 2001 Broadway premiere won a record-breaking twelve Tony Awards, and during its last West End season it won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical.
The Producers has a book by Mel Brooks and Tony Award winner Thomas Stroman (Annie, Hairspray) with music & lyrics by Brooks and original choreography by Susan Stroman. Stroman is a five-time Tony Award winner with credits including Oklahoma! and Crazy For You. This “irresistible, absurd and joyful” (The Guardian) revival is directed by Patrick Marber (Leopoldstadt, Travesties).
The Off-West End cast jump across to the Garrick, including Andy Nyman (Fiddler on the Roof, Ghost Stories) as Max Bialystock, Marc Antolin (Little Shop of Horrors) as Leo Bloom, Trevor Ashley (Jesus Christ Superstar) as Roger de Bris, Raj Ghatak (The Kite Runner) as Carmen Ghia, Harry Morrison (Come From Away) as Franz Liebkind and Joanna Woodward (The Time Traveller’s Wife) as Ulla.
Get ready for thunderous applause and roars of laughter at The Producers musical: it’s a show that takes no prisoners! Mel Brooks’ witty, vulgar and outright funny show is finally back in London, so book now for a night out that’s definitely not a flop.
