Beetlejuice
The time of your afterlife with Beetlejuice musical tickets
Are you ready for a trip to the Netherworld? After haunting audiences on Broadway three (yes, three!) times, it’s showtime for the Beetlejuice musical in the West End. This kooky, spooky spectacle, based on Tim Burton’s classic horror-comedy film, is ‘screamingly good fun!’ (Variety). So don’t hang around – possess yourself a ticket and get ready to join the ghost with the most at the Prince Edward Theatre!
Oddball teenager Lydia Deetz and her dad have just moved into their new home after the death of Lydia’s mum… but it turns out, the old residents are still hanging around! Newly-dead couple Adam and Barbara aren’t happy about these new arrivals, so they call up demonic spirit Beetlejuice to scare the Deetzes off. What could possibly go wrong?!
Tim Burton’s 1988 film shapeshifts into an outrageously fun theatre experience in the Beetlejuice musical, which first opened on Broadway in 2019. It’s since been on a US tour and popped back to New York for a couple more hauntings. Fans in London have been saying his name over and over again, and finally their calls have been answered.
This “jaw-dropping funhouse” (The New York Times) is directed by Tony Award winner Alex Timbers (Moulin Rouge! The Musical) and has a book by Scott Brown and Anthony King (Gutenberg! The Musical) and music & lyrics by Australian musician and comedian Eddie Perfect. Brown, King and Perfect were nominated for Tony Awards when Beetlejuice premiered on Broadway. In fact, the show was up for a very impressive eight Tonys overall!
The Beetlejuice musical West End cast is to be confirmed, but the hellraising poltergeist needs a big character to bring him to life. Alex Brightman played him in New York to huge acclaim, and was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Musical Theatre Actor.
Outrageous, irreverent and strangely life-affirming, the Beetlejuice musical will make your Day-O! Get ready for the whole being dead thing with tickets to the West End premiere… before it disappears back into the afterlife.
