Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World
Meet historic trailblazers with Fantastically Great Women musical tickets
Step into the Other Palace Theatre and meet some of history’s most iconic women! Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World, based on Kate Pankhurst’s children’s book, is a “pop-fuelled, upbeat” (The Times) new musical from the producers of SIX. Following two successful UK tours, Frida Kahlo, Rosa Parks, Marie Curie and more are assembling in London. Get ready to hear them belt out some tunes and flip history on its head in this empowering show.
The Fantastically Great Women musical is led by schoolgirl Jade, who breaks away from her group at the local museum and spots the Gallery of Greatness. The Gallery isn’t open yet, but that doesn’t stop curious Jade, who decides to take a peek behind the scenes. Soon, she’s meeting some of the greatest women from yesteryear: artist Frida Kahlo, activists Rosa Parks and Emmeline Pankhurst, scientist Marie Curie… and that’s just the start!
Join Jade on her journey through the lives of these incredible trailblazers at this “high-voltage” (The Guardian) new musical, which has already gained fans on two UK tours and summer seasons at Theatre Royal Stratford East and Edinburgh Fringe. Based on Suffragette Kate Pankhurst’s award-winning picture book, history has never been so fun, catchy and vibrant!
The Fantastically Great Women musical is brought to the stage by its very own team of wonder women. Directed by Amy Hodge (National Theatre: Mr Gum and the Dancing Bear), it is written by Chris Bush (Standing at the Sky’s Edge), with lyrics by Number 1 hit-maker Miranda Cooper, who has worked with acts including Girls Aloud and Kylie Minogue. Cooper and fellow musician Jennifer Decilveo (Beth Ditto, Miley Cyrus) bring all the ingredients that make a pop-banger earworm to the stage.
Can we have your attention, please? Tickets for the Fantastically Great Women musical promise a fist-pumping night of “unapologetic joy” (Evening Standard) that’s the complete opposite of a dry history lesson! Perfect for fans of SIX, and kids who want to find some new female role models from the past, don’t miss it in London this summer.
