Olivier Award-winning director, Jamie Lloyd, returns to the West End with his production of one of Shakespeare’s most famous comedies, Much Ado About Nothing. Tom Hiddleston and Hayley Atwell will star in the play which will debut at the famous Theatre Royal Drury Lane. We expect tickets to sell quickly, so we recommend grabbing them early to avoid disappointment.
Benedick and Beatrice are the epitome of enemies to lovers, always bickering, dishing out sharp-tongued insults and witty comebacks. A stark contrast to her cousin, Hero, who is smitten with Claudio. When a cruel prank backfires and the boat rocks for all four lovers, will their relationships stay stable? Penned as one of Shakespeare’s most famous comedies, the play is a blueprint for a modern rom-com.
Tom Hiddleston returns to the West End as Benedick. Best known as Loki, Thor’s estranged brother, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Hiddleston isn’t a stranger to the stage with the Much Ado About Nothing play marking his fourth production and second with Jamie Lloyd, having starred in Betrayal alongside Charlie Cox in 2019.
Starring alongside Hiddleston is Hayley Atwell as Beatrice. Another Marvel alumni, she starred in Captain America as Peggy Carter. Atwell last appeared in the West End in Rosmersholm and worked with Jamie Lloyd in 2008 on The Pride.
Jamie Lloyd is an Olivier Award-winning director and is best known for his star-studded revivals of classic plays and musicals. He most recently directed the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical revival of Sunset Boulevard starring Nicole Scherzinger and Romeo and Juliet with Tom Holland.
