Emmy, two-time Tony, Screen Actors Guild, and Drama Desk winner Christine Baranski stars alongside the Academy Award-nominated actor Richard E. Grant in an irresistible new production of Noel Coward’s comic Hay Fever play. Heading to the heart of the West End for a limited run at Wyndham’s Theatre, this unforgettable story about the eccentric Bliss family is a sure-fire hit. Book your tickets to Hay Fever today!
Set in an English country house in the early 1920s, we meet the Bliss family, a wacky and endearing bunch consisting of retired actress Judith, her husband David and their two children. When each member invites a guest to join them at the family estate for the weekend, a series of raucous misunderstandings ensues over parlour games, put-downs and unrequested encores. One of Noel Coward’s most popular plays, Hay Fever uncovers the universal truth, through an unforgettable comedic style, that there is no such thing as a normal family.
Christine Baranski makes her West End debut as Judith Bliss. As one of the most recognised actors in entertainment, she has received several accolades, including an Emmy and two Tony Awards. Her other credits include The Gilded Age, Mamma Mia and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Returning to the West End stage for the first time in two decades, Richard E. Grant stars opposite Baranski as her husband, David Bliss. An award-winning actor on stage and screen, his credits include Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Saltburn and Downton Abbey.
Hay Fever is directed by Emily Burns (Measure for Measure, Dear Octopus and The Comeback).
Further casting and creative team for the Hay Fever play revival is to be announced.
