Cultured laughs with Garry Starr: Classic Penguins comedy show tickets

The “joyously, jaw-dropping fun” (The Stage) award-winning Garry Starr: Classic Penguins comedy show returns to London for another run this October, performing at The Other Palace as part of a Francesca Moody Productions season this autumn. An international smash-hit, the show follows a self-proclaimed penguin who is hell-bent on saving literature from extinction.

Performed mostly naked (but with flippers), Garry Starr: Classic Penguins will take audiences through an “uproariously ridiculous” (The Times) adventure through every Penguin Classic novel ever written in a bid to save literature from extinction! From The Little Prince to Moby Dick, nothing is safe from the chaos which unfolds in this show, which lasts just over an hour – the perfect length for this brilliant piece of Fringe theatre!

The Garry Starr: Classic Penguins comedy show has obtained international status since its debut in 2024 at the Comedy Republic in Melbourne, Australia. It has sold out runs at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and in London over the last few years. Garry Starr: Classic Penguins also made a return to Edinburgh this summer.

Damien Warren-Smith is an Australian actor and clown who is behind the alter-ego Garry Starr. His other work includes Too ClownsMonkeys Everywhere and Garry Starr: Greece Lightning

Created and performed by Warren-Smith, Garry Starr: Classic Penguins is directed by Cal McCrystal and features design by Takis and lighting by Lily Dawford.

If you’re looking for something completely different this October, experience this wonderfully eccentric show for yourself at The Other Palace. It is one penguin mission you won’t want to miss!
