Dark and funny comedy with Feeling Afraid play tickets

Marcelo Dos Santos’ “frank, funny and occasionally filthy” (The Independent) solo comedy show, Feeling Afraid As If Something Terrible Is Going to Happen, is back!  Returning to London this winter for a limited season, follow a comedian’s journey into falling in love with a man who will die if he laughs. A smash hit in Edinburgh where it debuted in 2022, the award-winning show is not worth missing!

Over the course of 65 minutes, we meet an unnamed, chronically single comedian who finally feels Mr Right. “Hysterical and vibrant” (Everything Theatre), the Feeling Afraid play is a one-man show which also brings to the surface a heartfelt exploration of vulnerability, intimacy, ego, and truth.

Feeling Afraid As If Something Terrible Is Going to Happen made its premiere at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2022, where it won multiple awards. The show has gone on to play internationally, including runs in Melbourne and Washington, DC. It was last staged in London at the Bush Theatre in 2023.

Starring in the new iteration will be the acclaimed stage and screen actor Stevie Webb (Shucked, Pinocchio, Book of Mormon).

From the Olivier Award-winning producers of Fleabag and Baby Reindeer, Feeling Afraid As If Something Terrible Is Going to Happen was written by Marcelo Dos Santos and will be directed by Matthew Xia (The Harder They Come, Tender and Small Island).  The production features design by Kat Heath, lighting design by Elliot Griggs, and sound design by Max Pappenheim.

If you’re looking for a show that is “uproarious, shocking and unfeigned” (West End Best Friend) during the longer nights this winter, a visit to see the Feeling Afraid play fits the bill perfectly! But be quick, the show is only playing at The Other Palace for a limited time. Book your tickets today!
