Some stories stay with you forever, and others come to the stage! The Notebook musical, based on Nicholas Sparks’ best-selling novel and the beloved film of the same name, brings romance, heartbreak and tear-jerker moments to the Judi Dench Theatre, formerly the Shaftesbury Theatre. Boasting a Grammy Award-nominated original score by Ingrid Michaelson and a swoon-worthy creative team, don’t miss out on seeing this modern classic in the West End.
In the summer of 1940, working class Noah and wealthy heiress Allie meet and fall in love, before being pulled apart. But theirs is a love that will always find a way back. Between dancing in the rain, missed kisses and a resolute belief in each other, the pair’s love story lasts a lifetime.
The Notebook musical is adapted from Nicholas Sparks’ book, with a book by Bekah Brunstetter (NBC’s This Is Us), music & lyrics by American singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson, music supervision by Carmel Dean (Funny Girl) and choreography by Katie Spelman (Moulin Rouge). It is directed by Michael Greif, whose other shows include Dear Evan Hansen, Next to Normal and RENT in NYC.
It premiered in North America in 2022 at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre before heading to Broadway, and was praised by critics as “full of butterfly-inducing highs, stunning performances and beautiful songs” (Entertainment Weekly).
Casting for the West End production is to be announced.
This decades-spanning love story is one of the most popular modern romances on page and screen, and it promises to be even more emotional on stage. Book your tickets to see The Notebook in the West End, at the Judi Dench Theatre.
