Be More Chill
Don’t be chill about booking Be More Chill tickets as this highly-addictive musical returns
Cult sci-fi musical Be More Chill makes a triumphant return to the West End for a strictly limited 10-week season at the Shaftesbury Theatre this summer.
The musical follows average, nerdy teenager Jeremy who dreams of being popular and getting the girl of his dreams. These dreams become a lot closer to reality when he discovers “the SQUIP”, a supercomputer that takes over your brain and tells you what to do and say to become cool. Jeremy must pit his desire to become popular against losing his authentic self.
Be More Chill enjoyed a successful six-month run on Broadway before transferring to London in early 2020. The musical’s sell-out London premiere at The Other Palace was cut short but fans can rejoice as the musical now returns to the West End.
Be More Chill is adapted from Ned Vizzini’s 2004 novel of the same name and features original music and lyrics from Joe Iconis and a book by Joe Tracz. The original London cast is reuniting for the Shaftesbury Theatre run, including Scott Folan as Jeremy and Blake Patrick Anderson as his best friend Michael. Further casting includes Stewart Clarke as The SQUIP, Miracle Chance as Christine and Eloise Davies as Brooke.
The musical has a rapidly growing cult following since premiering in the US, with its catchy score amassing over 70 million streams. The score includes popular numbers such as “Michael in the Bathroom”, “More Than Survive” and “A Guy That I’d Kinda Be Into”.
If you missed out on this hugely popular musical last year, don’t miss your chance to join the Squip Squad as the show returns to the West End for a summer of addictive, high-energy fun. Catch Be More Chill at the Shaftesbury Theatre from 30 June 2021.
