The multi-award-winning, 5-star new musical, Hot Mess, lands in London for a second time this summer after taking Edinburgh by storm last year. Hailed by The Guardian as “the best musical at the Edinburgh Fringe”, follow the highs and lows of the tumultuous relationship between Earth and Humanity in a “gloriously quirky” (The Stage) musical at The Other Palace.
Earth has been on a billion bad dates in search of someone she can truly relate to. When she meets Humanity, a potential “one”, sparks fly and seeds are sown between the pair. But as the relationship turns toxic, the universe’s most iconic couple quickly descends into a hot mess. Filled with “brilliant one-liners and dazzling music” (The Guardian), the Hot Mess musical uses the climate crisis at its core to shine a light on the complexities of human impact on the planet.
The cast of Hot Mess includes Danielle Steers (Just For One Day, The Old Vic), who returns to the production as Earth, alongside Morgan Gregory (The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical, The Other Palace) as Humanity. They are joined by Mia Quimpo (Pippin, Upstairs at the Gatehouse) as cover Earth and Nathan Shaw (The Rocky Horror Show, UK and International tour) as cover Humanity.
From the creators behind 42 Balloons, the musical features a book and direction by Ellie Coote and music and lyrics by Jack Godfrey. The creative team also includes choreography by Alexzandra Sarmiento, set design by Shanko Chaudhuri, lighting design by Ryan Joseph Stafford and costume design by Sarah Mercadé.
